SHOWTIMES

182 scooter riders attempt an 8-day, backroad run across the USA covering 5,100 km on tires the size of a dinner plate. Welcome to Scooter Cannonball! From a man honouring his lost friend to a rookie testing his limits, riders battle heat, breakdowns and brutal crashes. Some make it. Some don’t. But all risk it for the adventure of a lifetime.

The Big Scoot! won Audience Choice Best Documentary at Vero Beach International Film Festival, 2025.

People's Choice Winner, TMFF 2025

Director Bio

Corrie Vaus is an award-winning journalist turned first-time filmmaker with a passion for telling stories of everyday people doing extraordinary things. For more than two decades, she worked as a video journalist in San Diego, earning 16 Emmy Awards and nine Golden Mikes before striking out on her own. Armed with just a camera, a drone, and plenty of determination, Corrie works solo from start to finish — filming on the ground, writing the script, and editing the final cut. Her work has been featured on PBS in nearly 100 markets. The Big Scoot! is her debut feature film.

Director Statement

It all started when my husband bought a Vespa. Then one day, he said he wanted to ride in Scooter Cannonball 2023. It's an endurance coast-to-coast scooter rally covering about 400 miles a day for more than a week. The thing is, scooters aren’t made for that. I grabbed my camera and documented the daunting journey from San Clemente, CA to Hilton Head, SC.
