After a deeply personal loss, Charlie Reynolds sold everything and made himself a promise: live as though he only has 30 days left.

That decision put him on a motorcycle and eventually carried him north to Kitimat, British Columbia, where the road begins to reshape the question that started the journey. Through unexpected encounters, shared miles and the vastness of Northern BC, Thirty Days becomes less about how much life can be packed into a month and more about what makes the time we have feel meaningful.

Director's Statement

I don’t ride. But I like motorcyclists because they usually have a good reason why they do what they do. Motorcycles are uncomfortable, expensive, and dangerous, and yet riders have shaped their lives around this kind of adventure. My question is always, “Why?”

And in making film projects about these kinds of characters in my neck of the woods, on Route 16, I always learn something about myself. Why have I committed my life to the circus of film making? Why have I chosen to live here, stay here, and make stories here, in the “middle of nowhere?”

Director Bio Daniel Stark is a filmmaker based in Northern British Columbia, where much of his work is shaped by the people, landscapes and stories along Route 16.

A TMFF alumnus, Daniel’s short film Hey Kid won Best Short Film at TMFF 2025. His work often begins with a simple question about why people choose the lives they do, then follows that curiosity into something more personal.

With Thirty Days, Daniel returns to TMFF with another story rooted in motorcycles, Northern BC and the choices that shape a life.
