The Ferguson Family: A Gift follows them from home life to race day, revealing a tight-knit family shaped by competition, culture and the kind of support that matters when the gate drops.
Jimi Kinistino and Patrick Cameron joins us in Toronto for a post-screening Q&A. Plus, Jimi, Patrick, and the Ferguson sisters will be joining us in Winnipeg.
Director Bio
Jimi (James) Kinistino is a Toronto-based Indigenous cinematographer, director and filmmaker, and the owner of Ravensun Media and partner at Wâhkôtowin Media Inc.
His work spans documentary, dramatic television and film, with credits for CBC, APTN and other major broadcasters. He served as Director of Photography on Fire Song, which premiered at TIFF, and in 2021 received a Canadian Screen Award for Best Picture Editing, Factual, for Every Child Matters.
Across his work, Jimi brings a collaborative, visually driven approach to stories rooted in people, culture and lived experience.
