The Southbound crew is back, picking things up in South America, where Danny McGee, Jonah Levine and Jesse Evers continue their long-running journey toward the southern tip of Argentina.
Over seven weeks, the route carries them through Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, across jungle, landslides, desert heat and the high Andes. After more than 7,000 miles and two previous chapters, the scale of the journey keeps growing, and the road gets considerably less predictable.
TMFF audiences have been following the Southbound crew since the beginning. This third chapter takes the ride deeper into the continent they’ve been heading toward all along.

Directors' Statement
We both work full-time in the film industry, but long-form travel films were what made us want to become filmmakers in the first place. As work got busier, we realized we had drifted away from the kind of filmmaking that inspired us. Southbound became our way back to that.
The series is entirely self-funded and built around making one major chapter of the journey each year. Southbound 3 continues that project through Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, and we’ve put an enormous amount of time and care into making it.
Director Bios
Danny McGee is an award-winning travel and adventure filmmaker and drone pilot based in Colorado. His commercial work includes projects for Red Bull, Google, DJI, GoPro and United Airlines, while his independent travel films have screened at festivals across the U.S. His aerial cinematography has also appeared in documentaries and films around the world.
Jonah Levine is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer and filmmaker whose work spans commercial and narrative storytelling. His visual work has been commissioned by brands and artists including Ford, Corona, Justin Bieber and Future.
Together, McGee and Levine are the filmmakers behind the Southbound series, an independently produced motorcycle travel project following a multi-year journey south through the Americas.
