Japanese-born motorcycle builder Shinya Kimura has spent decades stripping custom design back to its essentials. After founding Zero Engineering in 1992 and establishing his distinctive minimalist, vintage aesthetic, he moved to California and opened Chabott Engineering.
Filmed inside Kimura’s workshop, Shinya Kimura captures a builder guided as much by instinct and emotion as engineering. Through hand-shaped metal, exposed mechanics and carefully considered form, his motorcycles become more than machines—they are singular works shaped by the character of their maker.
About the Director
Henrik Hansen is a Danish born Director, DP and Photographer. A graduate from the Copenhagen Institute of Photography, Henrik is one of the most prolific international Directors. Known for his high profile work, Henrik maintains a keen cinematic style with a dynamic range from minimalist subjects to high energy visuals. He is based out of Los Angeles and Europe
